Rules associated with posting links

Rule 1 - Posting links to channels and live events
May we please remind everyone that Sites are being closed down specifically for having links publicly available.
Any information related to links to channels and sites should ALWAYS be enclosed within the Member bbcode tags. This also includes application names in posts for events, direct media links and p2p application links.
If you want a link then there are 2 ways to obtain a link:
1) First click on the picture in a moderators signature picture or their WWW address which will take you to a page of links.
2) If the link you want is not on the links page then see if the event topic contains the information you want within a Registered Users Only post and if not then make a post in the thread for the event that you want asking for one.

If you have a link that is not on the link page, then in your post enclose that information within Member tag. If you also let a moderator know by pm then they will add it to the links page.

People found posting links in open forum but not within Member Tags will on the first instance receive a 10 day temporary ban and on the second instance will be permanently banned.

If a post is considered to be spam then the temporary ban rule does not apply because the ban will be permanent on the first instance.

Rule 2 - Reporting direct illegal links to matches
We urge members to report any members giving out direct illegal links to matches or pay per view sites by PM to report them to a moderator, and we can ban that user’s Userid and IP address
Top

Rule 3 - Reporting links to pay per view sites
We urge members to report any members giving out links to pay per view sites by PM to report them to a moderator, and we can ban that user’s Userid and IP address
Top

Rule 4 - Promoting or plugging of other sites
Our site has a zero tollerance to spam. There should be no promoting or plugging of other sites unless previously approved by the moderation team. This includes signatures and also in pm’s. Users found to be abusing this rule will be banned. We urge members to report any members violating this rule to a moderator or administrator, and the offending user’s Userid and IP address will be banned.

See also Rule 29 - Advertising.

Rules associated with legal reasons

Rule 5 - Using names that are copyrighted
Please use team nickhames for EPL fixtures, as these are copyright of the FA Premier League, and we do not have permission to re-produce them.
Top

Rule 6 - Asking for freeview codes
Please do not post asking for freeview codes or promoting them on this forum. We will not condone the illegal actions of freeview codes.
Top

Rules associated with behaviour

Rule 7 - Responsibility of Freefootball.Org
Freefootball.org endeavours to have their site and forums available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - but naturally within the constraints of their server availability at their host. Whenever possible, the forums are staffed 24 hours a day in our efforts to bring you the best possible service.

Any posts made that the moderation staff deem to be inappropriate will always be removed at the earliest opportunity.

However, Freefootball.org is NOT responsible for what an individual user posts. All IP addresses are logged. If the site is asked to provide details of user IP addresses of who have posted infringing content then the site has no choice but to comply.
Top

Rule 8 - Discrimination
No discrimination of any sort (team banter is ok). In certain circumstances it can be impossible for Moderators to check every post. If you see a post which you personally find dis-tasteful please report the post to members of the moderation team, who will deal with it as soon as they can.
Top

Rule 9 - Posting spoilers
No posting spoilers i.e. score or goal scorers during live streams.
Top

Rule 10 - Duplicating already active topics
One topic is more than enough for one subject, please don’t duplicate topics already active. the duplicate topic will be locked.
Top

Rule 11 - Attitude to Administrators, Moderators or the Forum
Please respect Administrators and Moderators at all times. Administrators and Moderators provide their services completely free of charge and respond as quickly as possible often in stressfull conditions with many people wanting help at the same time. Replies to requests for information or help are normally dealt with in an orderly sequence. If a response is not forthcoming as quickly as you would like it means they are dealing with another person and will get to you as quickly as they can. If a reply they make does not read to your liking please understand that they do not always have time to re-read what they are posting or re-edit a post they have made just because the way it is written may not be perfect and to your liking.

Being derogatory towards or being generally insulting towards or holding a grudge against an Administrator or Moderator or the Forum or Forum rules will almost certainly result in your userid being suspended or banned.
Top

Rule 12 - Attitude to other users
Personal abuse - or negative posts (flames) towards other members will not normally be tolerated except in the Football Chat and General Chat forums. Please be courteous to other users and please respect the opinions of others even if you disagree. While general rivalry banter is always welcome, being generally insulting towards or holding a grudge against another user may result in your being suspended or even result in your userid being banned.

Rules associated with bans and suspensions

Rule 13 - Users who are banned
A ban is never imposed without very good reason. When a user is banned, in reality it is the person who is banned and not just the userid that the person was using. All banning decisions are final and the userid will not be unbanned. If the person whose userid was banned re-registers with a new userid then the moment that becomes known, the new userid will also be banned.

See also Rule 31 - Possessing multiple user accounts.
Top

Rule 14 - Users who are suspended
At certain times it is necessary to suspend a user from using the forums due to breaching of the rules listed here.

The normal period of suspension is 10 days.

Users who are suspended will be notified of the reason for the suspension and provided with the date that the suspension will be lifted. Users who are suspended will show a yellow card against their userid which will also state the reason for the suspension. After the suspension is lifted, the yellow card is retained but shows that the user has be warned. A subsequent breaking of the same rule that caused the initial suspension will result in a ban.

Users who are suspended will normally permanently lose access rights to privileged forums.

If the person whose userid was suspended re-registers with a new userid then the moment that becomes known, the new userid will also be banned.

See also Rule 31 - Possessing multiple user accounts.

Rules associated with requiring help or helping others

Rule 15 - When you need help
If you need help of a technical nature then the correct place to ask for that help is in the Technical Discussion and Help Forum.

If the help you need is specific to the event you are wanting to view then ask for that help in the topic for the event you are wanting to view.

However, before you ask for help, please take the time to read the topic for the event you want to view first because often your question has already ben asked and answered. Similarly before asking your question in the Technical Discussion and Help forum use the search facility because it is very likely that someone has already asked the same question before.
Top

Rule 16 - Helping other users
If another user is new - remember that you too were new once and any help you can provide will normally be very much appreciated by them. You helping another user also helps the workload of the Administrators and Moderators so they will appreciate your efforts too. However, if you are not certain of the correctness of the help you are about to offer, it is better not to provide the help as it may lead to confusion and actually create extra workload for the Administrators and Moderators.

Rules associated with specific forums

Rule 17 - Live Football Forum specific rules
Only match topics should be posted in the Live Football Forum. The format of the topic titles should be restricted to hometeam v awayteam. The recognised team nicknames should be used wherever possible.
Top

Rule 18 - Adult Forum specific rules
Access to the Adult forum is for users who are 18+. Requests for access to the forum can be made in the request for access topic that is found in the General Chat Forum. By requesting access you are stating that you are 18+ but you may be requested to state your age before access is granted.
Top

Rule 19 - General Chat Forum specific rules
The General Chat Forum is where Administrators and Moderators and Users chill out and have a laugh. Some topics are serious and some are not. However, in general people using General Chat must be extremely tollerant of what people post. If you are easily offended then perhaps General Chat is not for you. However, if you like to have a good laugh and a joke (often at each others expense) then it is a great place to go.
Top

Other General Rules

Rule 20 - New user Private Messaging restrictions
Users who have not made at least 5 or more posts are not able to initiate sending PM’s to other people. However, if someone sends a pm to a new user with less than 5 posts the new user can reply to the PM. In other words new users just can’t be the ones who start the PM conversation until they have made at least 5 posts.
Top

Rule 21 - Avatar size restrictions
The maximum size of avatars allowed is 130pixels wide MAXIMUM and 155pixels height MAXIMUM.
Top

Rule 22 - Signature size restrictions
Signature images should be a MAXIMUM of 155 pixels in height, as we don’t want to do endless scrolling down the page everytime you post. The height restriction includes text lines so if text lines appear above or below the image then the image will need to be less than 155 pixels in height. The total of all text and image widths in the signature should not exceed 650 pixels.
Top

Rule 23 - Image size restrictions in posts
When including an image in a post, the maximum size of the image should be 640 pixels in height and 480 pixels in width.

Freefootball.org accept no responsibility for images hosted external to Freefootball.org. Inappropriate images in posts will be removed.
Top

Rule 24 - Familiarity with the rules
It is the responsibilty of each user to know the forum rules. Not knowing a rule existed is not an acceptable excuse when a suspension or ban is imposed.
Top

Rule 25 - Readability of posts
The accepted language in the forums is English. Posts made in any other language may be removed. Although there are no demands as far as grammar or spelling are concerned, if your posts are difficult to read or understand or use ’text speak’ they are likely to be deleted or (in the case of help requests) not responded to. Persistent offenders will be banned from the site. Foul language/swearing in thread titles is also prohibited except in the General Chat Forum - but even there should only be used very rarely.
Top

Rule 26 - Off topic posting
Continuously creating topics that are ’off-topic’ for the forum they are created in or continuously creating posts within topics that are ’off-topic’ is deemed unacceptable.
Top

Rule 27 - Bumping topics
’Bumping’ posts (i.e. posting merely to lift a thread back to the top of the board) - whether your own or otherwise - is strictly prohibited.
Top

Rule 28 - Using Smileys
Although we provide smileys for general use on the forum they should be used sparingly - one smiley per post should generally be enough to convey your emotions. The forum has inbuilt restrictions on how many smileys can be used based on your postcount. Any posts that overuse smileys may be deleted.

Additionally do not steal our bandwidth by making posts on other sites that make use of the smiley images from our site.
Top

Rule 29 - Advertising
Advertising third-party websites/services is not permitted unless you have been given permission by an Administrator or Moderator to do so. This also applies to general advertising (see also Rule 4). To apply for permission to advertise on Freefootball.org, please contact us. To apply for a copy of our latest advertising rates, please contact admin@freefootball.org.
Top

Rule 30 - Sharing of your user account details
Your user account is exclusive to you and you alone - do not share your password with anybody else. Members who allow others to use their log-in details will have their account cancelled.
Top

Rule 31 - Possessing multiple user accounts
Members are prohibited from creating more than one account without the prior written consent of Freefootball.org. Any member that creates more than one account without permission can expect to have ALL of their accounts withdrawn.
